Tariq Zaid of Richmond Hood Company
I guess it’s true Staten Island is a small place, especially the North Shore. All of us North Shore progressive artist types tend to run into each other eventually. So today, I met a guy who works at a business that sponsors local artists and whose building is home to a large collection of truly great murals, all of the work celebrating my Island Home. I liked this guy immediately – I met him after admiring “his” murals. He handed me a palm card promoting a show for a local muralist, a guy named Kwue Molly, “Pronounced Q”…is the name of the show. I said, you know, I do a “shot of the day” every day…today’s shot is a mural by Q Molly, it’s my favourite painting by Q. Of course Tariq knew the mural I was referring to.
