QOTD: The creative person is more primitive and more cultivated, more destructive, a lot madder and a lot saner, than the average person.

Backstory: When is a dumpster Art? Hmm, when is it not might be a better question for a Dadaist. (This one reminded me of Jackson Pollack, the Great Dripster). — TAG

I guess it’s true Staten Island is a small place, especially the North Shore. All of us North Shore progressive artist types tend to run into each other eventually. So today, I met a guy who works at a business that sponsors local artists and whose building is home to a large collection of truly great murals, all of the work celebrating my Island Home. I liked this guy immediately – I met him after admiring “his” murals. He handed me a palm card promoting a show for a local muralist, a guy named Kwue Molly, “Pronounced Q”…is the name of the show. I said, you know, I do a “shot of the day” every day…today’s shot is a mural by Q Molly, it’s my favourite painting by Q. Of course Tariq knew the mural I was referring to.

For more information about Kwue Molly’s first NYC solo show (March 4, 2016, 6 – 10 p.m. in the Peoples Republic of Staten Island) visit www.richmondhood.com

Forgotten Statements

Shot Of The Day: February 23, 2016

Viele Sachen fehlen mir.

— Till Lindemann in a RollingStone.de interview

[Translation: I have strong connections to the traditions of the GDR. For example, I find it crap that there isn’t a, ‘Fasching’ anymore, but instead Halloween is celebrated. All this, ‘de-traditionalizing’ really disturbs me, there’s no authenticity anymore. There are several things that I’m missing.]

Backstory: A monster – or ? Maybe it’s an X-File? The final episode of the mini-series airs tonight…while the six episodes weren’t fabulous they were pretty good and certainly superior to Survivor or Law & Order SUV (SUV is N-O-T a typo – just me being a Klugscheißer 😉 — TAG
