Sleep Of No Dreaming

(Die Angst vor Clowns II)

At the age of sixteen I grew out of hope
I regarded the cosmos through a circle of rope
So I threw out my plans, ran on to the wheel
And emptied my head of all childish ideals

The sleep of no feeling
The sleep of no being
The sleep of no dreaming
The sleep of no dreaming

Blood

(Die Angst vor Clowns I)

You, you’ve got blood in your eyes.
You can’t see past your lies.
You are the one you desire.
Cause you’ve got blood in your eyes

Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)

November 2, 2014

A killing ground for tyrants
Get down on your knees
A gun in your mouth
Will fill all your needs

Brainwashed solutions
Torture and disease
Final retribution
For everyone to see

— Bill Leeb, Jeremy Inkel, Jared Slingerland (Front Line Assembly)

Worth noting: Deadened (the lyric above) is from Echogenetic (2013) – the first FLA release to ever make the German charts. This is significant because Wilhelm Leeb, who puts the Front in Front Line Assembly, grew up in Vancouver, BC — listening to Kraftwerk. If you haven’t heard Echogenetic, you have no idea what’s out there in the shadows.

I’ve Seen The Future, I Can’t Afford It

For all the cards you were dealt at the hands of fate

My Life Was Saved By Rock And Roll…Revisited

In The Lap Of The Gods…Revisited

No beginning, there’s no ending
There’s no meaning in my pretending
Believe me, life goes on and on and on
Forgive me when I ask you where do I belong?

Now I’m Here

With a rain running down my face
Your matches still light up the sky
And many a tear lives on in my eye

Keep Yourself Alive

But if I crossed a million rivers
And I rode a million miles
Then I’d still be where I started

Verloren

The profit of doom is walking the beach – With a psychotic breakdown cardboard sign
— Iggy Pop

Quote from: My Life Was Saved By Rock And Roll

Backstory: the lyric was pulled from L.O.S.T., a stand out track on the classic Beat ‘Em Up album (2001). Verloren is German for Lost. The Ampelmännchen (little traffic men – symbols used in East German walk signs) were acquired in East Berlin in 2001 while Ingo Assenmacher and I were on our way to see Alice Cooper (and his daughter) perform at Universal Halle. It was the Brutal Planet tour and AC was in good form.

Backstory: People who aren’t lucky enough to be from New York think it’s dirty and they think that those of us who live and work here are loud and obnoxious. So what? This is New York and we know how to have a good time.
